Information you provide directly
What we collect depends on how you use the site:
- Submitting a company (/apply): company name, website, sector and stage, a description of the business, a pitch deck and optional data room link, and contact details for the primary contact and any listed team members (name, email, role, LinkedIn).
- Joining the Investor Network (/investors): name, email, organization, investor type, areas of interest, typical check size, and — optionally — whether you self-identify as an accredited investor.
- Requesting an allocation in a specific deal (a token-gated page sent by email): your name, email, investing entity if applicable, the amount you’re requesting, an optional message, and confirmation of the acknowledgments shown on that page (accredited investor status, that the request is non-binding, and that you’ve reviewed the fee terms).
Information collected automatically
Pages on this site use Google Analytics and Vercel Analytics to understand traffic and usage — this collects standard web analytics (pages viewed, general location, device type) and, for Google Analytics, sets cookies to do it. Fonts are served from Google Fonts’ CDN, which sees the requesting IP address the way any font or image host does. We do not run any advertising pixels or sell analytics data.

- To match investors with relevant opportunities and send deal communications to investors who have joined the network.
- To operate the allocation request process for a specific deal.
- To respond to questions sent to us directly.
- To understand and improve how the site is used.
How this information is shared
Company submissions are reviewed by ChaosBio and are not shared publicly or listed anywhere. Investor information is used to send relevant deal opportunities and is never sold. We use a small number of service providers to run the site and are not shared beyond what’s necessary for them to provide that service:
- Supabase — database hosting for submissions, network records, and deal records.
- Vercel — site hosting and analytics.
- Google — Gmail API for sending email from chao@chaosbio.com, Google Analytics, and Google Fonts.
Cookies
The only cookies set by this site come from Google Analytics. There is no advertising or tracking cookie beyond that. You can block or delete these cookies through your browser settings; doing so limits our analytics but does not affect your ability to use the site.
Your choices
Investor deal emails include an unsubscribe link. If you have questions about this Privacy Policy, or wish to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information you have provided to us, please contact us at contact@chaosbio.com.
Data retention
We keep the information described above for as long as it’s useful for the purposes above — for example, for as long as a company submission or investor relationship is active — and delete or anonymize it on request.
International visitors
ChaosBio and the service providers listed above operate in the United States. If you access this website from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.
Children
This site is not directed to, and does not knowingly collect information from, anyone under 18.
